Etiquette
Side by side
Don’t worry—it’s perfectly normal to feel a bit awkward when you have a stranger cleaning your home while you’re there. Some of our clients choose to stay in and hang out while their cleaner is working, and some choose to spend the leftover hours doing something they love. We’ll love you no matter which option you choose!
If you choose to stay in during your cleaning, we recommend that you let your cleaner do their job. All of our cleaners are ambitious professionals, who are keen to do the best possible job they can, so you should give them some space to shine. However, a little small talk when your cleaner arrives could help break the ice and set you both for an enjoyable time. Take it easy. Ask your cleaner how they’re doing, or if they’re enjoying the sunny weather. Crack a few jokes and let them know that today, you’ll be staying in, but won’t be disturbing them while they work.
If you still feel awkward, you can use the time doing something you love. Go for a jog, go see that exhibition that you’ve wanted to see for a long time, visit your grandparents or take your kids out to the playground. Now that you have time, the world’s your oyster.
